Expertise

Bio2E expertise covers a range of biomass, bioprocesses and environmental applications.

Bioprocesses skills

Anaerobic digestion

Bioconversion of biomass with high organic content into biogas (methane) and a residue called digestate, through the action of microorganisms in the absence of oxygen.

Biomethanation

Bioconversion of gases (CO2, H2) into biogas (methane) through the action of microorganisms. It allows for example to valorize the non-CH4 gases produced by anaerobic digestion into an additional quantity of renewable energy without using additional biomass, and without emitting CO2 into the atmosphere.

Purple phototrophic bacteria

Fixing of CO2 by purple phototrophic bacteria, able to use a range of gaseous electron donors, such as H2 or H2S (contained in fermentation liquid residues), under anaerobic-illuminated conditions, while producing biomass and proteins.

Biological pretreatments

Lactic acid solid-state fermentation (= silage)

Composting

Biological conversion of fermentable matter that occurs in an oxygenated environment.

Photobioreactors

Depollution by phototrophic microorganisms.

Aerobic treatments

Wastewater and effluents purification by microorganisms.
